Cotton Hill Creamery is a small family farm in the Schoharie County town of Middleburgh, NY owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Heather Kamin and Jon Franklin.
We have been milking Alpine goats on this hilltop since 2010. Our cheese, yogurt, and milk are produced in our tiny dairy, which we built ourselves. We started commercial production in 2014.
The health and well-being of our goats and our land are essential to our farm's operation. Our goats are pastured, with access to safe, dry shelter. We manage the pasture using sustainable agricultural principles - no synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides or fungicides. We use rotational grazing to preserve the pasture, enrich the soil, and keep our goats healthy. The size of our farm allows us to have close relationships with each of the goats, and we keep a careful eye on their well-being, using conventional medications only when necessary. Our goats are not just employees: they are our family!
